More Real Life Stories

Some people don't like these, but I do enjoy reading about other people's success on the Dukan diet. Especially if they aren't 100% perfect - just show's that even just using parts of the program can help :)

  3. This is my 4th day on the Dukan diet. Day 1 and 2 was abit of a struggle but by the 3rd I was feeling great. It's a great diet as it really makes you think about the food you eat. I'm more aware of the food and it's contents and much healthier. I was 11 stone when I started. I am now 10 stone 9 lbs. That's a total loss of 5 lbs in four days! 2 of my friends are on it and they both lost 10 pounds each within 2 days! I'm ^^so happy and for once enjoying it and don't think this as a diet at all but more as a lifestyle change!

  4. How many times can you start the attack part of this diet? I lost 15lbs & kind of slipped for a week, (gained 4-lbs back) Can I start the attack phase to take off the lbs.

  5. Hi!

I am starting the Dukan diet today and Havnt been able to find out if you need to watch calories at all?

I tend to eat more in the afternoon too-is the diet as effective if I'm eating a larger dinner then any other meal? All foods are from the attack food group of course!

Thankyou so much for any advice, and all the best with your efforts!

  6. Hi,

No need to watch calories, as long as the foods are from the allowed list.

The truth is that the allowed foods are both low in calories and very filling, so no need to worry there :)

  7. I started this diet on Friday, Nov 4th and have done quite well. I find your blog most helpful. I had many bad habits and a great love of carbs so this is quite an adjustment for me. I am determined not to weigh myself. I am looking forward to the 'crunch' of some celery next week.

  8. Hi there I started the Dukan diet a week ago. I have been getting weighed daily, but will change it now to maybe every 2 or 3 days. I am pleased with my result so far. Lost 4kilos in 5 days. I am now on the cruise phase, looking forward to eating vegetables. I had one slip up not bad for this over the top carb eater.

  9. Started the diet today! Just had some low fat ham and eggs and feel full. I love my sweets way too much and my body reflects that. I am looking forward to seeing some results as I have at least 25kgs to lose.

  13. Day 1 for me today, I would like to know if there is a limit for skimmed milk, I am having it in coffee to keep hunger at bay, and was wondering wether I should be measuring the amount?

  14. Dairy (which includes skimmed milk) shouldn't exceed 1kg per day (or 1l). But you'd have to drink a lot of coffee, and eat a lot of cottage cheese to reach that limit :)

  16. I just thought I'd pop on and share some encouragement for everyone just starting out. I've been significantly over-weight since high school and at 30 years old I started the Dukan Diet at the end of June. In 5 1/2 months I lost 64 lbs (3 months ahead of schedule) I also started bike riding, running, and some light weight lifting. Things I never would have done before! Since then, I've been on the consolidation phase for just less than 2 months and thanks to the lifestyle changes I make with regard to improved eating habits and continued exercise, I've actually managed to drop another 7 lbs while still introducing the consolidation phase foods back in to my life! Im now 31 years old and weight as much as I did when I started high school! This is a fantastic diet and if you stick with it it really does work!

  18. I am looking for some advice, I have been doing the dukan now for three weeks and have lost 14lbs but last week I only lost 0.5lbs, I haven't changed anything and am still being strict! Is this normal? Just looking to find out if this happened to anyone else? Please HELP!

  19. I just started this diet two days ago and have already lost 4 lbs, so excited to have a diet that is easy to follow and does what it says. It was immediately clear to me that I had not been having nearly enough protein in my diet, felt great right away. I do wonder about cholesterol, does anyone have any experience with that while doing this diet?

  20. I am now on day 12. I did a 9-day attack in which I lost 12lb, from 20st 5, to 19st 7. I am now 19st 4, and have made the decision to keep going 5/5 and not weigh myself again until Dec. 31st.

I don't watch to see if I go above the 1k dairy limit, but seen as I don't use milk I know that's no problem, and I do drink diet sodas above the 1cal limit (namely 7up free and Diet Irn Bru - they keep me sane!).

I am very impressed so far with how it has gone. It is enjoyable, I am not cranky and the weight is coming off well.

  21. Ive been on the diet for 2 1/2 months now and have lost 28 pounds/ 12.7 kilos. Love the diet! If you have a sweet tooth like me, you can always invest in some artificial sugar and sugarfree lollies - they will change your life. They also help with constipation as your body recognises them as fibre - true story. If you find yourself getting sick of meat, buy some sugarfree jelly and greek yoghurt with artificial sugar and vanilla essence. Good luck to all!

  22. Hi - just catching up on some new recipes and enjoy reading others' comments. Started this new 'eating plan' end of March 2012. Today, I can proudly report I have lost 77 pounds (35kg) and am feeling the happiest and healthiest in myself for many years. I'm 50 this year (ouch!) and hard to believe, as my energy levels are so high and I'm told over and over, I'm looking great and so much younger than my years! The basis of this plan is now my lifestyle, and I'm loving it! Even friends enjoy many interesting meals I serve them, based on what I've learnt here. So, thank you all!
